La Cité collégiale

La Cité collégiale, in partnership with the OLSC, has created professional development seminars in biotechnology to help people working in this sector acquire further knowledge. The labour shortage in the industry is becoming increasingly problematic both locally and nationally. La Cité collégiale and the OLSC have set up this project so area companies can offer their employees needs-based training, and to demonstrate that the Ottawa area is capable of training a qualified workforce in the biotechnology field.

La Cité collégiale is one of 24 colleges of applied arts and technology in Ontario. The first French-language college in the province, it was founded in 1990 to give Eastern Ontario francophones access to college courses and vocational training in French. La Cité collégiale currently offers more than 70 post-secondary programs leading to a diploma or certificate. Additionally, it offers, in French and English, a wide range of professional development programs and services such as continuing education, apprenticeships, and training for businesses and managers in the region. More than 10,000 individuals and businesses have been served by the college in the last year.

For more information, visit La Cité collégiale's Web site at www.lacitec.on.ca.
